THE AREA
The island of Solta is one of the smallest islands along the Croatian coast. There are 2.000 people permanently living on the island. Solta is easy to reach from the mainland with regular ferries from Split during both summer and winter.

Among other things, the island of Solta is very well known for the quality of the local olive oil that is produced on the island. This oil is known to be among the best tasting olive oil produced in Croatia. Solta does also have a very rich wildlife with large areas of the island untouched by development. Hiking along any of the many trails across the island is for many visitors a popular change from the traditional beach-life along the coast.
